Roosevelt student recognized for lifesaving efforts

Roosevelt Elementary School fifth-grader Xavier L. was recognized today for his recent lifesaving efforts while on safety patrol. Xavier helped avoid a very serious and tragic accident by holding back a 4-year-old student who nearly ran in front of a moving car. The young hero, nicknamed “X-Man” received a personalized “X-Man” safety patrol belt and will be honored with the Mayor’s Youth Commission Award at the City Council meeting tonight. Way to go, X-Man!
