Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports
PBIS is a proactive, consistent approach to school-wide discipline. Using the PBIS model, schools have seen dramatic reductions in disciplinary interventions and increases in academic achievement – giving educators more time to teach and students more time to learn.

Bully-prevention in Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) gives students the tools necessary to remove the social rewards maintaining the inappropriate behavior, thereby decreasing the likelihood of problem behavior occurring in the future. It not only decreases incidents of bullying behavior, but also increases appropriate recipient and appropriate bystander responses to bullying behavior. The program is designed to fit within a larger system of PBIS, so it is far less resource intensive and far more likely to be implemented over consecutive years.
