Unsafe Jewelry
As a physical education instructor, you have the right to request students to remove any jewelry that you feel is a safety issue or is unsafe to other students; i.e., dangling earrings.
The legal implications regarding case law indicate that you as an adult leader owe a responsibility to protect all students in all situations. The younger the student the higher degree of care must be exhibited by the adult leader.
Students who refuse to remove unsafe jewelry should: not be allowed to participate in the activity; parents are to be contacted regarding the refusal; if not resolved, refer to the office for disciplinary action.
