There’s a story behind why we do the jobs we do, and what has inspired us to continue doing it for years to come. For many in Kenosha Unified, those stories have ultimately connected them to the district for generations.
For a majority of KUSD’s music directors, the joys of playing music as a KUSD student has brought that impact full circle as they teach the district’s next generations of young musicians with a meaningful and personal connection to the program.

The Setter Family
The Setter family has deep ties to KUSD. Learn more how two siblings – John Setter, KUSD project architect, and Susan Setter Sheard, Roosevelt Elementary School library media teacher – were inspired by their father, Edwin Setter, who spent 30 years of his teaching career at Roosevelt in this KUSD Generations story featured in the 2021 Community Report.
