Black History Bee

More than 2,500 students in fourth and fifth grade competed to represent their school at the annual districtwide Black History Bee by studying the lives of 50 important Black Americans. Twenty-four schools battled by answering detailed questions about these heroes in the areas of science, arts, music, education, athletics, and civil rights. Addison C., representing Somers Elementary School, took first place. Art and writing contest winners also were recognized at the event. Congratulations to all participants!
