AP Exam Registration Information

Registration Dates

The 2021 AP exam registration begins on Monday, September 21, 2020 and ends on November 1, 2020 at 11:59 PM.  The base exam fee of $95.00 is for all exams registered and paid for by Monday, November 2, 2020.  Exams registered and paid for after this date will have an additional late fee charge of $40 per exam applied. Students who wish to apply for the exam fee waiver must indicate that during the exam registration process.  If a student qualifies for the waiver, the $95.00 fee will not be charged.

Late AP exam registration is available for an additional late fee of $40.00 per exam.  ($95.00 exam fee + $40.00 late registration fee = $135.00 per exam fee)  Late exam registration begins on November 2, 2020 at 12:01 AM and ends on March 1, 2020 at 11:59 PM.  Students who qualify for the fee waiver will not be charged the $95.00, but will need to pay a late fee charge of $40.00 per exam.

KUSD high schools offer families the ability to pay their exam fees online at the time of registration. Please be sure to have a credit card or debit card available before beginning registration.  Families also have the option to pay for the exams in the school office. Payments made on or before November 2, 2020 will not incur an additional late fee of $40.00 per exam.  Exam registrations that are not paid by Monday, March 2, 2020 will be cancelled and exams will not be ordered.

Registration Process

The 2021 AP exam registration requires a two step registration process. 

MyAP - Step One

  • Login to MyAP

    • Use the same login information from last year

    • New user - click on the Sign Up link to set up a username and password

      • The username and password will be used every year

  • MyAP

    • Click Join a Course or Exam button

    • Enter Join Code specific to school/subject/teacher 

    • Verify course information to make sure the information that comes up is for the course you’re taking, if it is, click yes

    • Register for Exam tab

      • AP Exam status indicates “Undecided” 

      • Undecided MUST be changed to “confirm registration” or “No, I wish to remove myself from taking this AP Exam” prior to  Nov 1, 2020 

        • After Nov. 1st exam status is changed from “undecided” to “No”

        • Must contact School AP Coordinator after Nov. 1st to late register for an AP exam

      • Students who choose “confirmed registration” will have an AP exam ordered upon completion and payment in Total Registration (step two) by Nov. 2

Total Registration - Step Two

  • Only complete if you have registered for an AP exam in MyAP

  • Total Registration exam registration and payment must be completed by Nov.2, 2020

    • ALL of the questions must be answered completely

    • Complete registration and fee payment link using chart below:

  • Any student who doesn’t register in Total Registration and submit payment by Nov. 2, 2020 will be automatically marked as “No, I wish to remove myself from taking this AP Exam” 

    • Students who choose to register for an exam after November 2 will be charged $40 late fee and the cost of the exam
