Policy 5439 – Property Damage/Theft
Students are prohibited from vandalizing property of the District, students or staff. In addition, stealing personal possessions or District properties is strictly prohibited.
Students violating this policy may be referred for prosecution under applicable laws and/or subject to school disciplinary action.

Rule 5439 – Property Damage/Theft
- Vandalism
Students who commit vandalism on or to District property or to the property of students or staff will be subject to disciplinary action including suspension and possible recommendation for expulsion review. The parent/guardian will be notified and a conference with the parent/guardian, student, and principal may be scheduled. Law enforcement officials will be contacted for prosecution and District will seek to recover damages for District property. The offender or the parent/guardian will be expected to make restitution. - Theft
Students who steal personal possessions or District properties will be subject to suspension and/or referral to law enforcement officials at the discretion of the building principal/designee. The student’s parent/guardian will be notified and a conference with the parent/guardian, student and principal may be scheduled. The student or parent/guardian will be expected to make restitution. A recommendation may be made for expulsion consideration by the Administrative Review Committee.
