Whittier Elementary School families joined together Tuesday evening as they learned about different cultures that represent their Whittier community through art and food experiences. This month’s program focused on India. Families heard about Whittier parent Annie Petering’s family’s roots in Kerala, tasted Indian food from Desi Needs & Desi Dhaaba, and got the opportunity to create their own artwork inspired by Gond art, demonstrated by Whittier art teacher MaryBeth Braun.
