KENOSHA, Wis. (Thursday, September 29, 2022) – On Sept. 25, 2022, Kenosha Unified notified staff and families that it proactively took certain portions of its network offline after it experienced a cybersecurity incident. We are working closely with an external cybersecurity firm to investigate, as well as law enforcement.
That investigation is ongoing and our internal security teams are thoroughly reviewing the incident to mitigate any potential impact to data. While this may take time, we are committed to keeping students, parents and staff informed once we have additional information to share.
Thanks to the dedication of our teachers and staff, education continued. Thanks to the diligence of the KUSD security team, we are in the process of returning to business as usual and will bring all programs and applications back online today. We appreciate the support and understanding of our students, staff and families.
