Generous donation leads to informed families at Bose

KUSD news release

This Friday, May 7, 2021, Bose Elementary School will be unveiling its newly installed electronic sign donated by David and Marilyn Lauer via the Emily K. Lauer Memorial Fund. The ribbon cutting ceremony will be held in two rotations at 8 and 8:15 a.m. to ensure physical distancing.

The donation, totaling more than $20,000, was made because of the family’s ties to the neighborhood and school where their children attended, and now grandchildren attend. The electronic sign will allow the school to easily communicate updates with families and community members on a regular basis.

“This extremely generous donation was unexpected and our entire school community is beyond appreciative of this kind-hearted gesture of the Lauer family,” said Bose Elementary Principal Susan Mozinski. “We cannot wait for the ribbon cutting ceremony so we may begin using this new tool to communicate with our students, families and community members.”

The Emily K. Lauer Memorial Fund was created in 2003 and is used to support scholarship opportunities and non-profit organizations in the community.
