Gardening Enrichment at Wilson

Wilson Elementary School’s spring Enrichment involved its scholars learning all about why some gardens are successful and others are not. Students learned about the importance of earthworms, the need for plants, and how produce can feed a community. They also made refrigerator pickles together and sampled fresh herbs and other delicious produce.

Additionally, students got the opportunity to meet with garden experts, like TJ Chapman, from Unco Industries, Inc., where they manufacture soil packed with rich worm castings.

The group also made garden art, like flower mosaics, sun catchers and papier-mâché produce.
