Indian Trail High School and Academy students are participating in beep baseball during gym class this month. The equipment, on loan from Vision Forward in Milwaukee, allows both individuals with a visual impairment to participate in the sport while also giving gen ed students an opportunity to experience a temporary visual impairment by being blindfolded during the activity and relying on the beeps of the ball and bases. Students practiced a lot of cooperation and communication to help their teams succeed. Special shoutout to KUSD Specially Designed Physical Education teacher Becca Wandsnider and KUSD Visual Impairment teachers Brian and Jackie Hennig for working together to bring this experience to our students and to Ms. Lequia’s PE class for participating!
