This interactive map highlights the impact of general aid deductions applied to school districts’ state general aid payments received in the 2025-26 school year. Specifically, the map shows the portion of the district’s revenue limit (which comprises taxes and general state aid) that does not stay within the district for school operations but instead goes directly to private schools participating in a Private School Choice Program.

General aid deductions are determined by the number of residents of the school district who attend a private school under the Wisconsin Parental Choice Program (WPCP) or the Racine Parental Choice Program (RPCP) as an incoming student, the Special Needs Scholarship Program (SNSP), or certain independent charter schools (New ICS).

In 2025-26 school year, the statewide totals* of these general aid deductions are:

  • Wisconsin Parental Choice Program (WPCP): $260,946,330
  • Racine Parental Choice Program (RPCP): $44,356,127
  • Special Needs Scholarship Program (SNSP): $52,215,732
  • and for certain independent charter schools (New ICS): $36,894,253

These aid deductions totaled $394,412,442 for the state – an increase of 15.0% from the previous school year.
