Mission Statement

The Department of Special Education and Student Support is committed to providing inclusive, equitable, and high-quality services that empower all students to reach their full potential. We partner with families, staff, and the community to support the academic, social-emotional, and behavioral growth of students with diverse learning needs in safe and supportive environments.

Goals

  • Provide every student with access to the individualized supports, services, and resources necessary to thrive—regardless of their disability, background, or educational setting.
  • Support and expand inclusive educational environments where students with and without disabilities learn together, honoring differences and fostering a sense of belonging.
  • Utilize evidence-based instructional and behavioral practices tailored to the unique strengths and needs of each student.
  • Build strong partnerships with families and community stakeholders through transparent communication, collaboration, and mutual respect.
  • Provide professional learning and coaching opportunities that equip staff with the skills and knowledge to effectively serve students with disabilities.
  • Use data-driven decision making to monitor student progress, inform instruction, and continually improve program effectiveness.
