KUSD to host 59th Choral Festival

KENOSHA, Wis. (Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2026) – The Kenosha Unified School District’s 59th Choral Festival will occur on Saturday, Feb. 21, at 6:30 p.m. in the Indian Trail High School field house. The event will showcase more than 800 students from our elementary, middle and high schools.

Tickets are available online. Field house seating is $10 (maximum of 3). Tickets will not be available at the door, and field house seating may sell out in advance. The event will also be streamed live on the district’s YouTube channel. Guests may also watch the live stream for free with no ticket required in the Indian Trail auditorium.

This year’s guest conductor is Dr. Christopher Owen, associate professor, chair, chorus conductor and K-12 music education advisor at Northeastern Illinois University. On Thursday, Feb. 19, and Friday, Feb. 20, Dr. Owen will visit secondary schools to rehearse with the choirs. The concert will feature performances by four individual high school choirs. Additionally, there will be combined performances featuring mass choirs from middle and high schools, treble and bass voice choirs, and the All-City Elementary Choir.

Participating directors and their schools are Owen Mehring, Bradford High School and Bullen Middle School; Lindy Christensen, Harborside Academy; John Choi, Indian Trail High School and Academy; Elyse Harvancik, Tremper High School; Brianna Jandrowski, Lance Middle School; and Daniel Parks, Mahone Middle School. Kristen Singer will serve as the festival’s accompanist.
