Description

ACTIVELIFETIMEPERSONAL and FOUNDATIONS are all required for graduation. Each course is a .5 credit for a total of 1.5 credits toward the graduation requirements. Co-ed students are required to participate in activities and to achieve a combined passing grade based on attitude, effort, cooperation, class participation, and written tests. The activities offered are as follows: softball, archery, yard games, flag football, soccer, speedball, volleyball, floor hockey, badminton, table tennis, rhythm and dance, weight training, aerobic conditioning, and physical fitness testing.

Health is a graduation requirement. Successful completion of this course will earn students .5 credit. This required course deals with the critical health needs and problems of today. The course is based on scientific information that has as its purpose the development of knowledge and the cultivation of desirable attitudes, habits, and practices. Topics include first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), AED (automatic external defibrillator), mental health, social health issues, alcohol and other drugs, tobacco, cancer, nutrition, death/dying, suicide prevention, human growth and development, HIV/AIDS, STDs and other communicable diseases, environmental issues, and the family life curriculum.
