8th Grade Families,
We are looking forward to celebrating our 8th graders at this year’s Advancement Promenade, which will be held at Mahone on Tuesday, June 9, from 5:00–7:00 p.m.
This event is held in front of the school. There are numerous photo opportunities, and students will have a chance to have their name read as they walk across the stage and get their advancement certificate. Families can show up any time between 5:00 and 7:00 p.m. and can stay as long as they would like.
All 8th grade students move on to high school. However, to participate in the advancement promenade, students must earn a minimum 1.0 GPA for 8th grade. After third-quarter grades were finalized, families of students who are in danger of not meeting this requirement received a letter in the mail as a heads-up that their child may be at risk of not qualifying for this event.
Fourth-quarter grades will be finalized on the morning of Friday, June 5, and families of any students who do not meet the requirement will be notified at that time.
