Reminder to all students that have received an invitation to Lakeview’s National Honor Society. Your “Nomination Requirement” Forms are due by Friday, March 1st. If you are a Freshman and were members of the JNHS during 8th grade, see Mr. Ortiz about membership into Lakeview’s National Honor Society Chapter. Please see Mr. Ortiz in room 120 with any questions.

 

NHS is holding a canned food drive from February 26th to March 1st.  Please put all non-perishables in the commons.  Thanks! We need to help the people in a pickle.

 

Students – please make sure to restart your computer.  This is important so that your computer receives updates!

 

Juniors – Prepare for the upcoming ACT exam by attending a practice online ACT test on Saturday, March 2 from 7:45 AM – 12:30 PM here at LakeView.  You will receive your results that day!  To sign up, visit the main office by Thursday, February 29.

 

Juniors – You will be taking the ACT exam on Tuesday, March 12.  Please make sure to bring a fully charged computer and your charger to school that day.  It is crucial that you arrive at school no later than 7:20 AM.  Dismissal time will be at 12:40.  Freshmen, Sophomores, and Seniors do not have school on this day.

 

Registration is open for the KUSD girls lacrosse team’s Spring season. The team is no-cut and no experience is necessary. Make sure you have completed registration by March 4.  If you would like to try the sport, open gym is available on Mondays from 7:30 – 8:30 in the Indian Trail gym.  Contact Coach Becker at cabecker@kusd.edu regarding any questions or more info.

 

The weather is warming up, register today for Spring sports on the Tremper website.

If you are interested in registering for Start College Now classes through Gateway or Early College Credit classes through Carthage or Parkside for Fall 2024, all applications are due to Mrs. Rooker by March 1.  Please see Mrs. Rooker if you have any questions or need help with the application.

 

On Friday, April 12, Gateway will hold The Hispanic Youth Career Fair.  This event will include inspirational speakers from our Spanish speaking communities, program exploration, application workshops, college fair, student panel, and networking with community resources.  The bus will leave from LakeView at 8:30 and arrive back at 2:20.  Lunch will be provided.  We are limited to 25 spots for this event.  Please see Mrs. Rooker to pick up a permission slip and return it as soon as possible to secure your spot!

 

If you are a student in an AP course and have not registered for the exam but are still interested in doing so, the late-registration window is open until March 1.  There is a $40 late fee.  Students must register and pay with LakeView through Total Registration.
