We will be selling donuts and water outside before school TOMORROW, June 8th $2.00 per donut/$1.00 for a water

If you did not pre-order a yearbook, they will be sold on a first come basis for $40 TOMORROW June 8th (Last day of school). Eighth grade students will have the first opportunity to purchase, then seventh, and finally 6th grade.

 As the end of the school year approaches, please remember to pick up your child’s medication on or before the last day of school. Students are not allowed to transport medications. The school will not store any medication for the following school year. Any medications not picked up by a parent/guardian will be discarded on June 9th.

 For our last Generosity Project of the year, we will be collecting dog food, cat food, dog toys, cat toys, leashes, and collars for the Safe Harbor Humane Society. Safe Harbor Humane Society has been serving the Kenosha area for over 100 years.  Each year they care for almost 3000 cats, dogs, and other small domestic animals. In addition to caring for homeless, abused, and abandoned animals; they offer many low-cost public services to keep the animals in our community healthy and help end pet overpopulation.  Collection will begin May 2nd and run until May 31st.  May the most generous House win!

We are in our fourth quarter of school and we still have the same students checking out Chrome Books every day.  Some students tell me that they know they “can check one out so why bring it to school”.  Starting Monday, April 4th any student who checks out a Chrome Book two days in a row will not be allowed to check on the third day and will have to do their assigns the 90’s way – paper and pencil.  Every student has been assigned a Chrome Book and a charger, they need to bring to school charged with them every day.

Starting Monday, April 4th, keep your hoods down, ear buds out of your ears and absolutely NO mid- drift tops.  Your teachers will review the dress code with you.  Consequences will be issued to those who continuously violate the district’s dress code policy.

Monday, May 23rd

All students who turned in their NJHS application and hours have been accepted. The induction ceremony is TODAY, May 23rd. The program begins promptly at 6:00 PM in the Mahone Auditorium. Students should arrive between 5:30 and 5:40 PM to get lined up. Contact Mr. Bishop (rbishop@kusd.edu) with any questions.

 For our last Generosity Project of the year, we will be collecting dog food, cat food, dog toys, cat toys, leashes, and collars for the Safe Harbor Humane Society. Safe Harbor Humane Society has been serving the Kenosha area for over 100 years.  Each year they care for almost 3000 cats, dogs, and other small domestic animals. In addition to caring for homeless, abused, and abandoned animals; they offer many low-cost public services to keep the animals in our community healthy and help end pet overpopulation.  Collection will begin May 2nd and run until May 31st.  May the most generous House win!

Any Boys and Girls and all Grades! If you are interested in playing football, please come to a parent and player meeting on Wednesday, June 1st. We will be in the Mahone Auditorium from 6:00-7:00pm

Mahone is having a School Carnival on TUESDAY, JUNE 7th!  There will be games and a lot of ‘Bouncy Things’. Each grade level will have their own times.  We will have snacks for you to purchase – everything is a $1. You are all invited as long as you do not get OSS starting Tuesday, May 3rd!

Hawkettes (Indian Trail Dance Team) will be having tryouts for the upcoming fall football season. Students who are interested should join our Google Classroom (code vjs4z6b). Students need to learn the dance on their own and then come to BOTH tryout dates. The first day will be a clinic to learn more and ask questions. The second day will be actually tryouts. Interested dancers should come dressed in dance clothes, including proper footwear (tennis shoes or dance shoes), have water and a snack (if needed), be prompt and have a secure ride home both days. Students of all abilities and gender are encouraged to tryout!

We are in our fourth quarter of school and we still have the same students checking out Chrome Books every day.  Some students tell me that they know they “can check one out so why bring it to school”.  Starting Monday, April 4th any student who checks out a Chrome Book two days in a row will not be allowed to check on the third day and will have to do their assigns the 90’s way – paper and pencil.  Every student has been assigned a Chrome Book and a charger, they need to bring to school charged with them every day.

Dress Code Violations

Starting Monday, April 4th, keep your hoods down, ear buds out of your ears and absolutely NO mid- drift tops.  Your teachers will review the dress code with you.  Consequences will be issued to those who continuously violate the district’s dress code policy.


Tuesday, May 3rd

For our last Generosity Project of the year, we will be collecting dog food, cat food, dog toys, cat toys, leashes, and collars for the Safe Harbor Humane Society. Safe Harbor Humane Society has been serving the Kenosha area for over 100 years.  Each year they care for almost 3000 cats, dogs, and other small domestic animals. In addition to caring for homeless, abused, and abandoned animals; they offer many low-cost public services to keep the animals in our community healthy and help end pet overpopulation.  Collection will begin May 2nd and run until May 31st.  May the most generous House win!

Eco Club members don’t forget our Milkweed has arrived and you need to be prepared to plant on Thursday, May 5th!  Bring any shovels, gloves, and a change of clothes so you are prepared for the weather conditions.  Your field trip form is due this week as well!  See you on Thursday 😊

 Hawkettes (Indian Trail Dance Team) will be having tryouts for the upcoming fall football season. Students who are interested should join our Google Classroom (code vjs4z6b). Students need to learn the dance on their own and then come to BOTH tryout dates. The first day will be a clinic to learn more and ask questions. The second day will be actually tryouts. Interested dancers should come dressed in dance clothes, including proper footwear (tennis shoes or dance shoes), have water and a snack (if needed), be prompt and have a secure ride home both days. Students of all abilities and gender are encouraged to tryout!

Tryout dates – Monday May 9, 5:00 pm – 6:30pm & Wednesday May 11 5:00 pm – 6:30pm.
