Career highlights
Mrs. Nelson began her teaching career as a middle school teacher and coach in Geneva, IL. Mrs. Nelson joined the Kenosha Unified family in 2004 as a teacher consultant for Hillcrest. In 2005, she was promoted to the principal of Stocker Elementary School. In her tenure at Stocker, Mrs. Nelson has presented at the state PBIS conference three times and her school has been recognized for its achievement in both behavior and academics. Mrs. Nelson has a passion for educating students and leads by example. You will find her working with students on reading on a daily basis. She sets high expectations for herself and those around her. Mrs. Nelson knows that it takes a team to help each child find success and that everyone needs to work together to ensure student growth. Stocker has been among the top KUSD schools with regards to growth from fall to spring and overall achievement, in both reading and math, as measured by our MAP assessments. This is also reflected on Stocker’s most recent State Report Card which rated them as Exceeding Expectations.

I love all sports and Wisconsin sports teams. I currently watch a ton of volleyball as both of my kids play. Mrs. Nelson’s favorite food is sushi.
