School Report Card

The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) School Report Card is a tool used to measure how well schools are serving students. Similar to a report card that students receive, schools earn an overall score based on several factors, including student achievement, academic growth, graduation rates (for high schools), and how well schools support students from different backgrounds.

The report card is designed to show not only how students are performing academically, but also how much progress they are making over time. Schools are placed into categories based on past performance. The goal of the report card is to provide families, community members, and educators with a clear picture of a school’s strengths and areas for improvement while encouraging continuous growth and success for all students. While the overall ranking provides some general overview information, more specific details can be found within the report card itself.
