Honors English/Accelerated Math Criteria Information
Honors English and Accelerated math are available for 7th and 8th grade students only.
Honors English/ Accelerated Math Criteria for 2023-24:
Current 6th grade students (2022-23):
- To go into Accelerated Math in 7th grade a student must have the following:
- 75th achievement percentile or higher and an A average grade in Math for all 4 quarters.
- To go into Honors English 7 a student must have the following:
- 75th percentile or higher and A/B+ average grade in English for all 4 quarters.
Current 7th grade students (2022-23):
- To remain in Accelerated Math for 8th grade a student must have the following:
- 75th achievement percentile or higher and a C+ or higher grade in Accelerated Math for all 4 quarters .
- To remain in Honors English for 8th grade a student must have the following:
- 75th achievement percentile or higher and a C+ or higher grade in Honors English 7 for all 4 quarters.
**All current 6th grade students will receive an email/ letter with their math and English placements for the 2023-24 school year by the end of May. Any questions on your child’s placement for Math or English must be made to Mr. Dahlk prior to June 8, 2023. Students must meet the criteria above to be considered for placement in Honors classes.
