Breakfast and Lunch Service
Breakfast and lunch will be served each day school is in session. While meals are free of charge, we strongly encourage you to scan the QR code on the flyer below to register for the free and reduced program. You do not need to complete the application to get a free meal. This application also applies for reduced fees for athletics, fine arts, some scholarships and to qualify for Title One programs.
Breakfast will be served starting at 7:45. If your students will have breakfast with us, please arrive a little early to give them enough time to enjoy themselves. Breakfast will stop being served at 8:15.
Elementary students that bring a cold lunch and want a milk will need to pay for the milk. Milk is only free if a student takes the meal.
Our Middle School students may get a free meal as well. New this year we will offer a la carte items for MS students. These are for purchase and students will need money in their lunch account.
Breakfast and lunch menus can be viewed here. Please refer back to this link often as last minute changes do occur.
Lastly, parents can order birthday or celebration treats from our kitchen to be delivered to the student. Reminder, if parents want to bring in snacks/treats, these must be store bought.
Pre-arranged Absence
If your student will be absent for three or more consecutive days, a pre-arranged absence form must be filled out and turned into the attendance office 2 weeks prior to be considered for an excused absence. Please visit the KUSD website to view the guidelines on the KUSD School Board approved Student Attendance policy 5310.
Medications & Immunizations
All medications kept at school must be accompanied by a signed medication authorization form, see below. Over-the-counter medications require a parent/guardian signature. Prescription medications require both parent/guardian AND health care provider signature.
Medications that are ordered daily for the morning are to be given at home.
All medications must be stored in the health office with the exception of EPI-PENs, inhalers, and certain diabetic supplies. These medications may be carried IF the health care provider indicates this on the medication authorization form.
When providing medications to the office, they must be in their original, unopened, containers and not be expired.
Please be sure that your students are up-to-date on their immunizations. Contact your child’s physician to see if they are in need of any vaccinations (the Covid-19 vaccine is not required by KUSD).
Family Life
For curriculum information or to opt-out your student(s) from Family Life lessons, please review/submit these forms:
Chaperones
KUSD Chaperone Criminal Background Check and KUSD Chaperone Policy Acknowledgement must be submitted before chaperoning a field trip or volunteering in the building and/or in a classroom. This is required annually and we encourage you to fill it out prior to the start of the school year.
