Alessandra Hartnell

Hello Grewenow Families!
My name is Alessandra Hartnell and I am the Instructional Coach here at Grewenow. At Grewenow I work closely with the teachers and all school staff to help support your child or children’s learning. I wear many different hats here, such as working directly with students, working with teachers in meetings or within their classroom, or just random things around the building.
I am going into my 2nd year here at Grewenow. Before this, I taught 6th – 8th grade special education at Bullen Middle School for 6 years and 2 years at Jefferson Elementary, as the 2nd – 5th grade special education teacher. I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Cross-Categorical Education (Special Education and General Education) from Carthage College, and my masters from UW Milwaukee, in Principalship and Director of Pupil Services. I am certified to teach 1st – 12th grade special education, 1st – 8th grade general education, Principal licensure and Director of Pupil Services licensure.
A little background about me is that I was born and raised in Kenosha. I have been married to my husband, Nick, for 7 years now and we have a 3 year old daughter, and with another baby on the way. My favorite time of year is Summer and Fall. I enjoy being outside as much as possible, going for walks, going to the parks with my daughter. I love to travel and especially love to travel near an ocean. One fun fact about me is that I grew up speaking two languages and love to cook.
I am looking forward to the exciting things to come to Grewenow this school year!
