Hi there!
I am excited to start the new school year at Grewenow with its amazing students and staff! I grew up in Kenosha attending schools in KUSD, and I have been an educator in KUSD since 1996. I taught middle school Math and Math Intervention for 23 years (Washington, Mahone, and Lance), and I have been a Special Education ESP for 3 years.
I earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration / Management from UW-La Crosse, and my first career out of college was as a retail manager.
I quickly realized it was not going to be my long-term cup of tea, so after about 5 years I removed myself from the retail world. I always loved school and babysitting for the neighbor’s children, so I decided to return to college to become a teacher. I earned a certification in Elementary Education (with a minor in Math) from Carthage College and – fast forward 26 years – I continue to enjoy educating Kenosha’s youth.
I look forward to supporting all students at Grewenow whenever I can, whether it be learning the Dragon way of being responsible, respectful, safe, and kind, or assisting them in other capacities throughout the school day. I firmly believe all students can achieve great things in their lives, and I hope I can help your child reach his/her goals at Grewenow.
I have been married to my husband, Bob, for 25 years, and we enjoy hiking, biking, kayaking, and traveling (I’m not a fan of outdoor winter activities). We have one amazing daughter, Aeliana, who we adopted from China when she was seven months old. She is a lifeguard at RecPlex, a senior at Lakeview Technology Academy, and she is about to embark on the lengthy process of applying for college.
I’m looking forward to a great year!
