Roosevelt Student Wins Annual Red Ribbon Slogan Campaign

KENOSHA, Wis. (Friday, Oct. 3, 2025) – Kenosha, WI – October 3, 2025 – Roosevelt Elementary is proud to announce that fourth grade student Michael Stanley has won first place in the Annual Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drugs (ATOD) Slogan Contest.

Michael’s winning slogan, “Staying Drug-Free is my Responsibility,” will serve as the theme for poster designs, essay writing, special group projects, and scholarship contests taking place throughout the 2025–26 school year.

Kenosha County’s Annual Red Ribbon Week will take place Oct. 19–25, 2025. The week will kick off with a special event at Roosevelt Elementary on Monday, Oct. 20, at 9 a.m. The opening assembly will feature guest speakers and a performance by the Roosevelt Choir.

“We are proud of Michael and cannot wait to see his slogan shared across the community,” said KUSD Superintendent Dr. Jeff Weiss. “His slogan indicates that our students are aware of the role they play in making healthy choices.”

Red Ribbon Week is the nation’s longest-running drug-use prevention campaign, reaching millions of young people every year. Locally, Kenosha County schools and organizations collaborate to promote awareness, prevention, and informed decision-making.
