Principal

Dear Roosevelt Parents/Guardians and Community:

Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year! The 95th year of Roosevelt Elementary tradition!

As I head into my 7th year as the principal of Roosevelt Elementary, I am incredibly proud of our school and the progress we have made. Last year we saw amazing growth from our students. From the spring of 2021 to the spring of 2023, Roosevelt made a 29% increase in math growth, and a 28% increase in literacy. Great things are happening daily at Roosevelt due to the amazing staff that we have. Our staff take great pride in helping your children learn at their highest levels.

This year at Roosevelt, we return a veteran teacher to every classroom. We will focus on our culture, math and literacy goals to make sure we are continually improving.

Roosevelt continues to live Kenosha Unified School District’s moral imperative ensure ALL students will have an equal opportunity to prepare for college and/or careers with the support of highly qualified educators in a learning environment that is resource rich, safe, and welcoming.

Over the past 22 years, I have had the opportunity to wear many different hats in education. I taught all different aspects of special education, alternative education, AVID elective teacher, AVID coordinator, dean of students, assistant principal and now principal. Although the roles are diverse in nature, my mindset for education has remained constant. I believe that it is our duty as a school to be committed to achieving the highest results for ALL students. Roosevelt’s staff and I work diligently to develop meaningful connections with every student to ensure individual success for each student. The culture of Roosevelt is built on a commitment to excellence, continuous growth, and celebrating our success.

There is an African Proverb that states, “It takes a village to raise a child.” The staff here at Roosevelt want to be a large part of that process, however we are only as good as our communication and collaborative efforts with our families. We need support from parents and guardians in order to achieve the levels of student achievement we are aiming for. Please give consideration to joining our PTO and volunteering your time to be part of our amazing school community.

I look forward to working with all of our parents/guardians and students this year.  My goal as your Principal is to be at your service to ensure your student(s) has success at Roosevelt. Please feel free to contact me at any time with questions, concerns or suggestions.

Thank you for playing a role in making me feel like the luckiest principal in the world!

The best is yet to come.
