Families who would like their child to attend a boundary school other than their assigned school must submit a Parent-Initiated Transfer Request. Beginning this year, Parent-Initiated Transfers are available to all students in grades 4K-12.
The Parent-Initiated Transfer window (Policy 5330) opens March 1, 2026, and closes March 21, 2026.
How to Apply
- Electronic request form opens March 1
- Form closes March 21
- Late applications will not be accepted
- Families will be notified of decisions by May 1
Already on an Approved Transfer?
Students with a currently approved Parent-Initiated Transfer do not need to reapply to remain in their current school.
Questions about transfer status for 2026-27 should be directed to your child’s current school.
Families Not Currently Enrolled in KUSD
Families in the community who are not currently enrolled in KUSD may submit a transfer request. If accepted, families must complete KUSD enrollment, including proof of address, by June 1 to maintain acceptance.
