Meet Heidi Bassler, the glue, glitter and caffeine that hold Southport Elementary School together!
As a key member of the Culture Club team (not the 80s band — though just as iconic), Heidi helps create the positive, welcoming atmosphere that defines Southport. She led Town Hall meetings for every grade level like a pro, managing hundreds of students with a smile and sense of humor.
Heidi also runs the Student Ambassadors program, teaching future leaders responsibility, confidence, and how to own the microphone. Under her guidance, students submitted a grant proposal to support a more welcoming school community, and they nailed it.
Her impact can be felt everywhere. Heidi reaches every student and staff member with compassion, creativity and dedication. Whether she’s guiding students through challenges, teaching lessons, managing behavior, providing resources, or leading daily announcements, she brings steady leadership and a whole lot of heart.
