LakeView K-8 Academy hosted its annual Engineering Fair where sixth grade students shared their solution to improve a medical prosthetic after being inspired by Mr. Crawford, who shared his personal experience using a prosthetic after losing his leg in a snowmobile accident. An avid water skier and wakeboarder, Mr. Crawford described the challenges he encounters and how existing prosthetic designs do not fully meet his needs.
The project emphasized problem-solving, empathy and applied engineering skills, encouraging students to think critically about how design impacts quality of life.
