What are the school hours?

School hours for Kindergarten-fifth grade students:

  • Monday-Thursday 8:10 a.m. – 3:16 p.m.
  • Friday  8:10 – 12:10 p.m.

School hours for 4K students:

  • AM Students  Monday-Thursday  8:10 a.m. – 11:21 a.m.
  • PM Students   Monday-Thursday  12:01 p.m. – 3:16 p.m.
  • NO CLASS on Fridays

My student will be late getting to school in the morning. What is the procedure?

If your student will be late and would like to order a hot lunch, please call the school office no later than 8:30 a.m. If your student is arriving after 8:30 a.m., please send a cold pack lunch.


My child is sick and won’t be in school today. What is the procedure?

The student’s parent or guardian should call the school as early as possible for the absence to be recorded.  Feel free to leave a message, as the answering machine is on 24/7. 


Where is the lost and found?

The lost and found is located in the front hallway near the office.


How does the breakfast and lunch program work?

All students at Grant Elementary are eligible to receive breakfast and lunch at no charge.  If your student brings a cold pack lunch, and would like to purchase a milk, the cost is $.35.  Lunch menus are available here. 


How does my child receive breakfast?

Breakfast is served daily between 7:35 a.m. and 8:05 a.m. Students arriving for breakfast may enter from the blacktop near the back playground. Students who are not eating breakfast at school may begin arriving on the blacktop at 7:55 a.m. and will line up with their designated class.


How much are school fees and how do I pay them?

The 2023-2024 school fees are $44.00 for students K-5 and $22.00 for 4K students. School fees can be paid through the Infinite Campus parent portal. Log in here. 


School Closing Procedures

In the event schools are closed, an announcement will be made no later than 5:30 a.m. via local television stations, radio stations, on the KUSD website. Weather announcements can also be heard by calling 262-359-SNOW (7669).
