What are the school hours?

School hours for Kindergarten-5th grade students

  • Monday-Thursday 8:10 a.m. – 3:10 p.m.
  • Friday  8:10 – 12:06 p.m.

School hours for 4K/EC Students are

  • AM Students  Monday-Thursday  8:10 a.m. – 11:20 a.m.
  • PM Students   Monday-Thursday  11:55 a.m. – 3:10 p.m.
  • NO CLASS on Fridays!

My child will be late getting to school in the morning, what is the procedure?

If your child is going to be late and would like to get a hot lunch, you must call the school office at 359-6346 office by 8:30 a.m. If you are unable to call prior to that time, please send a cold lunch to school with your child.  In all cases, please try calling the school as soon as possible.

My child is sick and won’t be in school today, what is the procedure?

The child’s parent or guardian should call the school as early as possible so that the absence will be excused.  Feel free to leave a message, as the answering machine on 24/7.

Where is the lost and found?

The lost and found is located in the front hallway by the office.

How does the breakfast and lunch program work?

All students at Grant Elementary are eligible to receive breakfast and lunch at no charge.  If your student brings a cold lunch, and would like to purchase a milk, the cost is $.35.  Lunch menus are sent home each month or available on the KUSD website and click on the menus tab.

How does my child receive breakfast?

Breakfast is available from 7:45 a.m. -8:05 a.m. Students should enter the building from the back playground. Students must be in liner by 8:00 a.m. in order to be served.

How much are school fees?

The 2018-2019 school fees are $44.00 for students K -5 and $22.00 for 4K and EC students.

School Closing Procedures

In the event schools are closed, an announcement will be made no later than 5:30 a.m. via local television stations, radio stations, on the KUSD website, or by calling 359-SNOW (7669). You can also sign up to receive text alerts on the KUSD website.
