Ruth Harman Academy’s National Junior Honor Society
Scholarship Service Leadership Character Citizenship
The purpose of Ruth Harman Academy’s NJHS chapter shall be to create enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate a desire to render service, to promote leadership, to develop character, and to encourage good citizenship. Membership is both an honor and an obligation.
To be eligible for consideration, students must:
- Scholarship-Grade Point Average of 3.5 or above from Quarters 1 and 2.
- Character-Receive high rankings on faculty evaluation sheets and two recommendations from a Ruth Harman staff member.
- Service-Complete 5 hours of community service (NJHS Service Hour Forms).
- Leadership-Exemplify the 7 Habits of Leader in Me
- Citizenship-No major discipline referrals.
- Yearly dues of $20.00
Students selected for membership will be invited to the induction ceremony on Wednesday, May 13th.
Students will receive an invitation to join in Quarter 3 if they have met the above requirements. Applications will be due April 29th, 2026
Requirements for Members:
- Scholarship-Maintain a GPA of 3.5
- Character-Students of good character uphold Ruth Harman Academy’s Flyer Fundamentals.
- Service-Complete 10 hours of community service ( NJHS Service Hour Forms)
- Leadership-Exemplify the 7 Habits of Leader in Me
- Citizenship-No major discipline referrals.
- Must attend monthly meetings
