The Tremper High School Golden Strings

The Golden Strings as Ambassadors

The Golden Strings are a prestigious high school strolling strings ensemble that performs all over the world. They have performed in France, Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic and China. Within the United States their performance locations include Hawaii, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Florida, Texas, and countless venues throughout Wisconsin and Illinois. Mr. Stanley F. Nosal established the group in 1972, making this their 40th anniversary year! The Tremper Golden Strings are a beloved Kenosha tradition!

Performing in two of Kenosha’s sister cities, Wolfenbuettel, Germany and Douai, France was a highlight for the Golden Strings in 2009. Students stayed with host families, explored the wonders of the Volkswagen in the recently opened Autostadt museum, and traveled through Berlin visiting the parliament in Germany. Viewing Paris from the Eiffel Tower was spectacular as was touring the beautiful musical city of Prague.

In 2011, the Golden Strings took their talents to two beautiful locations - Alaska and Florida. Performing aboard Norwegian Cruise Line’s The Pearl in the beautiful Stardust Theater, they also enjoyed excursions at the ports of Skagway, Ketchikan, Juneau and Victoria, British Columbia. In December, they headed south to Orlando where they performed at Hammock Beach Country Club in Palm Coast and Embassy Suites in Altamonte Springs.

Due to last year’s success, the 2012 Golden Strings Mother’s Day Brunch will be held at a new location this year – UAW Local 72 Hall, 3615 Washington Road, Kenosha. Tickets for each of the morning and afternoon seatings are available at Spiegelhoff’s Super Valu, 3401 80th St. Treat Mom and the entire family to the exquisite music of the Golden Strings as you enjoy a delightful brunch prepared by L & M Meats on Sunday, May 13, 2012! Tremper orchestra students audition to be a member. In addition to a weekly extracurricular rehearsal year-round, members attend a summer music camp for intensive training for the upcoming school year. They maintain a lively schedule of public and private performances. Students must also present a professional image as group and school representatives, as they are often in the public eye.
