COVID-19 latest update following Gov. Evers’ release

Following the recent school closure announcement from Gov. Tony Evers, Kenosha Unified has decided to close effective Monday, March 16, 2020, and will reopen on Monday, April 6, unless notified otherwise by the governor’s office and/or county health officials.

This decision has been made in the best interest of our students and staff to ensure the safety and well-being of all in our school community. KUSD will continue working closely with health officials to make informed decisions and update our community as expeditiously as possible.

At this time, we need the following staff to report to work on Monday, March 16, to open buildings, answer phones, allow families access to buildings to pick up medications, etc.:

  • ASTs, 10- and 12-month administrative support personnel, facilities and food services must report to work on Monday, March 16

If you are not listed in the bullet above, you are not required to report to work, but may access the building on Monday if you so desire.

Because this is a very fluid situation, additional discussions are occurring and  more information will be forthcoming. This will be shared by end of day Monday, March 16. We appreciate your patience and understanding so informed decisions may be made in the best interest of all staff.
