Harborside post office walk

Harborside Academy seniors and EL education students participated in a nationwide walk to the post office today as a symbolic representation of taking the necessary steps for their future. Students first walked the school halls while other students and staff cheered them on. Then, they were cheered on by elementary students and parents as they made their way across the street to the post office, where principal William Haithcock, KUSD superintendent Dr. Sue Savaglio-Jarvis, library media teacher Ms. Liesch, a Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction representative, and senior Na'Kia Hughes shared encouraging words before the students dropped their letters into the mail. Letters ranged from college applications to scholarship applications to letters to loved ones. Then, students also were handed letters of encouragement from their loved ones.
