Certified Nursing Assistant course

Kenosha Unified School District offers a Certified Nursing Assistant (C.N.A.) course that prepares students to perform basic supportive skills in caring for patients in various healthcare settings.  This course provides classroom and laboratory instruction with a clinical experience in a nursing home or hospital.  After the course, students take the Wisconsin Nurse Adie Competency Test and upon passing the state test, students are placed on the Wisconsin Nurse Aide Registry.  C.N.A. fulfills a prerequisite for Gateway Technical College (GTC) nursing programs. This class is taught by Gateway Technical College certified instructors with students earning both KUSD (.75 credit) and GTC (3 credits) credit upon successful completion of the class.

The C.N.A. course is offered in the summer at Kenosha Gateway Technical College and also offered in the afternoon/evening at Indian Trail Academy and High School during 1st and 3rd quarter. It is available to students who are juniors and seniors and meet the initial academic admissions requirements such as but not limited to: having taken Medical Terminology and/or Exploring Health Occupations, ACT reading score of 15+ or Accuplacer reading score of 237+.

At course completion, graduates are encouraged to take the state competency exam for state licensure. Students are responsible for the $125.00 exam fee. Upon the successful completion of the exam, students receive C.N.A. certification from the State of Wisconsin and can sign up for Youth Apprenticeship and work at an area hospital, assisted living facility or nursing home.

El Distrito Escolar Unificado de Kenosha, ofrece el Certificado de Auxiliar de Enfermería (C.N.A.) el curso prepara a los estudiantes para realizar habilidades básicas de apoyo de cuidado de pacientes, en diversos entornos de atención médica.  Este curso proporciona un laboratorio de instrucción en el aula, experiencia clínica del hogar de ancianos, o en un hospital.  Después del curso, los estudiantes tomaran el Examen de Competencia de Enfermería Auxiliar de Wisconsin, al aprobar el examen del estado, el nombre de los estudiantes será colocado en el Registro de Auxiliar de Enfermería de Wisconsin C.N.A. al completar el requisito previo del programa de enfermería de Gateway Technical College (GTC).  Esta clase es instruida por instructores certificados de Gateway Technical College, y los estudiantes obtendrán ambos KUSD (.75 créditos) y GTC (3 créditos) créditos al completar con éxito la clase.

El curso de C.N.A. se ofrece en el verano en Kenosha Gateway Technical College, y también se ofrece en la tarde/noche en la Academia Indian Trail y en la Escuela Preparatoria, durante el 1er y 3er trimestre. Está disponible para los estudiantes de 9°/juniors y 12°/seniors, que cumplen los requisitos iniciales de administración académica, como pero no limitado a: haber tomado Terminología Medica y/o Exploración Ocupacional de Salud, puntuación de lectura ACT de 15+ o puntuación de lectura Accuplacer de 237+.

Al completar el curso se recomienda a los graduados, tomar el examen de competencia estatal para obtener la licencia estatal. Los estudiantes son responsables de $125.00 cargos del examen. Al completar con éxito el examen. Los estudiantes recibirán Certificado del Estado de Wisconsin C.N.A, y se podrán inscribir en el Aprendizaje Juvenil, para trabajar en un hospital de área, instalación de asistencia de vida o residencia de ancianos.
