Terrence Lee Talley speaking to a classroom of students.

Harborside Academy hosted anitbullying advocate, author and guest speaker Terrence Lee Talley on Monday. Talley travels the nation on a mission to give every student hope and to empower them to give hope to others. Through the “Smile Movement,” he shares personal stories of overcoming ridicule to change the trend of bullying in schools and make the world a better place.

He addressed the school in two assemblies and in two small group settings, where he discussed topics like mental health, race and stereotypes with students and how to address them.

“It doesn’t matter where you come from or what somebody thinks of you, you are more, so be more,” Talley said.
