2020 Youth Kindness Award Nomination, Poetry/Rap Contest and/or Video Challenge | Kenosha Unified School District

2020 Youth Kindness Award Nomination, Poetry/Rap Contest and/or Video Challenge

Kindness is contagious

The Coalition for Dismantling Racism has been recognizing and celebrating the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. for 24 years through various events and programs. This year, the Kenosha community (including but not limited to students, teachers, parents, acquaintances, etc.) are again encouraged to nominate a student or student group for acts of kindness. Likewise, students are also invited to participate in a poetry/rap, and/or video challenge.

Winners will be recognized at the Annual Community Unity Breakfast on Saturday, Jan. 18, 2020, at Bradford High School and again at the 26th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration on Monday, Jan. 20, 2020, in the Madrigrano Building at Gateway Technical College. Each winner will receive a youth kindness certificate, a gift card, and free entry for themselves and one adult to the unity breakfast. Nominees, principals, and/or teachers will be notified of winners the week of Dec. 16, 2019.

Please see the attached memo and nomination form(s) for more information. If you have additional questions, please feel free to contact Executive Assistant/School Board Secretary Stacy Busby at sbusby@kusd.edu or 262-359-6172.
