{"id":172,"date":"2020-03-25T00:01:24","date_gmt":"2020-03-25T00:01:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.kusd.edu\/lance-staging-new\/?page_id=172"},"modified":"2025-05-07T13:17:04","modified_gmt":"2025-05-07T18:17:04","slug":"honors-information","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.kusd.edu\/lance\/parents\/honors-information\/","title":{"rendered":"Honors Information"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Honors English\/Accelerated Math Criteria Information<\/h2>\n<p>Honors English and Accelerated math are available for 7th and 8th grade students only.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em><u>Honors English\/ Accelerated Math Criteria for 2025-26:<\/u><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Current 6th grade students (2024-25)<\/em><\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To go into Accelerated Math in 7th grade a student must have the following:\n<ul>\n<li>80th achievement percentile or higher and an A average grade in Math for all 4 quarters.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>To go into Honors English 7 a student must have the following:\n<ul>\n<li>80th percentile or higher and A\/B+ average grade in English for all 4 quarters.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><em>Current 7th grade students (2024-25):<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To\u00a0<u>remain\u00a0<\/u>in Accelerated Math for 8th grade a student must have the following:\n<ul>\n<li>75th achievement percentile or higher and a C+ or higher grade in Accelerated Math for all 4 quarters .<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>To\u00a0<u>remain<\/u>\u00a0in Honors English for 8th grade a student must have the following:\n<ul>\n<li>75th achievement percentile or higher and a C+ or higher grade in Honors English 7 for all 4 quarters.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span class=\"style1\">**All current 6th grade students will receive an email\/ letter with their math and English placements for the 2025-26 school year before the end of the school year.\u00a0 Any questions on your child&#8217;s placement for Math or English must be made to Mr. Dahlk prior to June 20, 2025.
