Screen Shot 2013-11-13 at 8.51.02 AMSome might call it the most wonderful time of the year. That’s right – homecoming season. And this year is expected to be the biggest and best homecoming that Indian Trail High School & Academy has seen yet.

This week leading up to the big night, different events and activities are planned, like ice cream available to students and games set up to play during lunches.

Speaking of games, this year’s homecoming game will take place on Friday at IT’s very own Jaskwhich Stadium, where the varsity team will take on Franklin.

Preceding the game will be the third annual Indian Trail Homecoming Parade. About 30 floats are expected this year – including one that will feature this year’s king and queen, whom will be crowned at the pep assembly, according to school activities director Adam King.

The parade will begin at the YMCA at 5:15 p.m. and will follow through the neighborhood

located on the north side of school, ending at the stadium.

Immediately following the game, a fireworks display will be put on for everyone to enjoy.

As far as the actual dance goes, it will take place on Saturday, from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. in the commons. Ticket sales began Monday and run through Friday, and the theme for this year will be “Under the Sea.” Jimano’s will provide pizza for all who attend, and music, dancing, and a good time throughout the night are practically guaranteed.

In order to be able to attend this year’s festivities filled with food, friends, and fun, school officials advise students to be aware of the new criteria everyone must meet. All students, as of Sept. 9 up until homecoming, must have no truancies, no more than five tardies to class, no major discipline issues or suspensions, and no unserved detentions.

Don’t miss out on your chance to be a part of Indian Trail history and show your hawk pride by attending this year’s homecoming.
