– NHS wraps up Food Drive for First Step

By Maggie L., Pulse staff writer

The National Honor Society hosted its annual Food Drive last month to collect food for those living in poverty during the holiday season. Collection ran for 10 days in  November. This year the school collected food for First Steps Service, an organization that provides shelter, meals, and other necessities for the homeless. Donations ranged from nonperishable goods like noodles and sauces, to paper products and baby needs such as wipes, toilet paper, and diapers.

Students competed in their advisories to see which one collected the most food and supplies. NHS offered a prize to the advisory that collected the most points: a “Thank You” cake. The winning advisory was Mr. Choi’s, where students collected more than 250 points worth of items. Congratulations to all who contributed.
