King of Latin pop also strong advocate for gay rights, humanitariean efforts

Ricky Martin, (born on December 24th, 1971) is known best as a Puerto Rican music artist with his hit songs “The Cup of Life” and “Livin’ La Vida Loca,” but he’s also an outspoken advocate of the Hispanic and LGBT community.  His choice to come out as gay in 2010 has been credited by some with helping gain greater acceptance of the gay community in both Latin America and the US.  Martin is also known for his humanitarian work with the Ricky Martin Foundation.
