On Saturday, Feb. 20, suspense and excitement filled the field house for the Indian Trail boys varsity basketball team in their WIAA Division-1 regional final against Bradford High School.

IT senior guard Kyle Andrews caused the crowd and his team to erupt, when he made a 3-pointer at the buzzer down 2 points, making the final score 67-66. Andrews led his team in scoring with a game high of 18 points.

I really felt like I was gonna make it, and when I shot it I knew it was going in,” Andrews said. “It means everything because our group of seniors are really close and have been together since like sixth grade. So we just have trust in each other to do the right thing.”

The Hawks now have a 9-4 Southeast Conference record and prepare for a WIAA Division-1 sectional game against Wauwatosa East at 7 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 25, at Wauwatosa East High School. Wauwatosa East has a 19-3 Greater Metro record.

In order to win against a strong team, Indian Trail is going to have to pull out all the stops and believe they can, while containing the excitement from winning regionals.
