IT Sports recap Oct. 23-29

Cross Country

On Oct. 20, Indian Trail’s varsity team participated in the WIAA Subsectional Meet at U.W. Parkside and then attended a WIAA Sectional Meet at Grant Park in Cudahy on Oct. 24. At the Oct. 20 meet, the Hawks boys team placed second and the girls team placed first. At the Oct. 24 meet, both the boys and girls team’s got second place. The WIAA State Meet starts Oct. 31 for those who qualify at Arrowhead High School. This will be the third straight state appearance for the boy’s team, and second in three years for the girl’s team. 

Boys Football

The Indian Trail varsity football team managed their first win of the season against the Tremper Trojans on Oct. 23 with a score of 26-20. This leaves IT at a 1-3 record in the Southeast Conference, as they face Franklin at 7 p.m., on Friday, Oct. 30, at Jaskwhich Stadium. Franklin holds a 4-0 record. Tremper hits the floor harder at a 0-4 record in the SEC, and heads into a game against Bradford the same day. Two weeks are left of the regular season.

Boys Soccer

The Indian Trail varsity soccer team faced a WIAA Regional game against Franklin at Jaskwhich Stadium, and lost 0-3 on Oct 20. This game concluded their season and they now hold a 3-5 SEC record. 

Girls Swim and Dive

The Indian Trail varsity swim and dive team won against Tremper 107-79 on Oct. 22 at the YMCA. The varsity team divers attended an invitational meet at Oak Creek High School Oct. 24. Junior Joanne Banaszak placed first and broke the 11 dive school record with a score of 395.20. They later faced Bradford at the YMCA on Tuesday, Oct. 27, and won 128-52.  Another meet will be held against Tremper on Thursday, Oct. 29, at Tremper High School. 

Boys Volleyball

On Friday Oct. 23, the Indian Trail varsity boys volleyball team won on a forfeit due to a cancelation, during a WIAA regional game. They swept the Tremper Trojans Oct. 27 during a WIAA Sectional match at IT’s fieldhouse. They currently hold a 8-2 record in the Southeast Conference. They will be participating in a WIAA Sectional Final against Westosha Central Oct. 31, 1 p.m. at IT.

Girls Volleyball

The Indian Trail girls varsity volleyball team got swept by the Bradford Red Devils varsity team Oct. 22 in the WIAA Semi-Regional Finals. Earlier in the week, IT swept the Wilmot Panthers in their first playoff match Oct. 20. As the playoffs continue, IT is left third seed in the regional draw with a 4-6 record in the Southeast Conference, as their season comes to a close.
