Key Club shines at conference

Indian Trail High School & Academy’s Key Club had an award-winning weekend in March at the annual Wisconsin-Upper Michigan District Leadership Conference in Green Bay.

Leah Kuester, a Medical-Science Academy junior, was elected Division 1 Lieutenant Governor, assuming the role of manager of all Key Clubs in Kenosha and Racine.

Dave Patel, a Med-Sci junior, was elected Division 6 Lieutenant Governor and will manage clubs in the Milwaukee area such as Marquette University High School, Wauwatosa East High School, and Shorewood High School. Patel also received the Outstanding Junior award out of all juniors in Wisconsin and Upper Michigan; the Distinguished Club Treasurer award; and the Commitment to Service award.

Cory Sparks, a Communications Academy senior, received the Distinguished Club Secretary award.

Anamay Del Real, a General Studies senior, received the Distinguished Club Vice President award. She also won first place in the Oratorical Contest and gave her speech in front of representatives from more than 50 clubs at an awards banquet last month.

James Oscar, a Med-Sci junior, received an award for Outstanding Club Website.

Grace Chapa, a Med-Sci junior,  received the Commitment to Service award.

Kate Martin, an Indian Trail English teacher and Key Club adviser, received the Kathy Gillis Award for Outstanding Faculty Adviser.
