In March, the Kenosha City Council imposed more severe restrictions on electronic cigarettes by passing a new city law that makes it illegal for teens under age 18 to possess electronic smoking devices.

The ticket for possession of such a device by a minor can be up to $187. Here at Indian Trail High School & Academy, the school consequences for vaping in the building include but are not limited to detention, suspension, expulsion and/or referral to law enforcement, according to Vice Principal Tony Casper.

Last month, school officials sent out a message to parents informing them of the health dangers and penalties regarding vaping.  An informational night concerning the issue is planned for 5:30 p.m., Thursday, April 11,  at Bradford High School in the library.
