Do you want to go somewhere for spring break, but don’t want to or can’t travel too far?

If that’s the case, here are some places that aren’t too far from home, but are still nice getaways.

Door County:

No. 1 on the list is Door County, Wis. From its beautiful winding roads to its gorgeous views, Door County is sure to sweep you off of your feet. It is a quick three-hour drive north of Kenosha. If you do find yourself making this trip, you should stop into one of Door County’s top restaurants, Shipwrecked. Built in 1882, it was once a favorite retreat of Al Capone’s in the 1920s, this restaurant has it all. If that fails to satisfy your hunger, then you could head over to the Chocolate Chicken and grab some of Door County’s famous cherry ice cream. If food isn’t your scene, Door County also offers a wide variety of outdoor activities such as jet skiing, hiking trails, and even a trout fishing tournament that begins April 25. The winner even gets a grand prize.

Chicago:

If you’re not looking for something outdoorsy for spring break, then you could also take a drive to Chicago, Ill., a little more than a hour drive south of Kenosha. From going to visit Chicago’s historic giant bean to exploring the amazing Shedd Aquarium, it is hard to get bored in Chicago. With pop up car shows and every restaurant you can think of, Chicago really does have it all.

Kenosha:

If you just want to stay in Kenosha for spring break, here are some things that you could do. Kenosha Harbor Market is always a favorite. All of Kenosha’s local farmers, crafters, and food vendors come out to sell their best products from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., every Saturday.

If you enjoy painting, Pinot’s Palette is always open for reservations with large groups and singles.

Cinemark also has some great movies coming out, such as Dumbo and Us. Maybe even head over to Action Territory which has go karts, mini golf, and laser tag. No matter where you go or what you do this spring break, just relax and enjoy yourself.
