The Little Things Can Go a Long Way

The Little Things Can Go a Long Way

A woman’s house gone and away

On the streets is where she lays

She lays down, looking so frail

Doesn’t look like she’ll ever prevail

No money, no family, nowhere to go

Oh, it just hurts, it hurts my soul

I feel the need to ease her of pain,

No one should have to live in the rain

I think of ways to help her out, so she no longer has to mope

Some money is what I give her, to show her a little sense of hope

She then says to me thank you, kind sir

All I could think was may God bless her

In later years we met again

Now I can say I achieved a new friend

From the money I gave her, she turned her life around

Now she no longer sleeps on the ground
