NEDA Walk 2018

Photographs and Story by Sarah Therrien

On Oct. 14, The National Eating Disorder Association hosted a walk at Lincoln Park in Chicago to raise awareness for the millions of people who suffer, or who have suffered with an eating disorder at some point in their lives.  The walk was sponsored by many different brands, and included many motivational speakers who have experienced eating disorders either through loved ones, their own personal struggles, or patients they have treated in the past. The list of guest speakers that each had a very important story to tell included supermodel and AerieReal ambassador Iskra Lawrence; chief executive officer of Aloria Health Melissa Rochi; and eating disorder survivors Dena Angela and Grant Theisen. Thousands of participants attended the walk and raised more than $50,000 of the $60,000 donation goal.
